I'm in the middle of installing a painless wire harness in my neighbors 78(?) fj40. I've got most of it done and ready to go, but I'm confused about the ingition setup.

Coming off the ignition I've got:
black/white - ST
Black/yellow - IG
light blue/red - ACC
white/light blue - AV

In the painless harness:
pink - ign. switch (coil ign)
orange - ign. switch ign
red - ign. switch B+
purple - ign. switch start
Brown - ign. switch Accy.

Which goes to which?!?!

All Toyota on there... lots of FJ40 tech. I haven't been on for a while, since I got rid of the FJ40 I was working on actually.

did it come with a schematic? where do the painless wires go on the other end?

Painless wiring should be able to answer that.

The only one that isn't labeled 'to fuse panel' is the purple one which goes to the starter solenoid.

That'd be too easy.

I called them and they said that pink and orange get spliced together into the ignition wire. You think they'd make it a little less confusing and make that connection for you.

Just so y'all know, never buy the painless harness for the fj40. I've come to realize that I have to make my own harness for things like the turn signals and wipers because the harness you get is too universal and doesn't work with the stock switches. This thing isn't worth the 400 bucks or whatever it cost.
