FYI - made my reservation tonight and was told they're almost full for that weekend.

You're kidding me, this early? I sometimes wonder if they just keep telling people that so they book their appointment. Last year I didn't book until March and they said the same thing - they were alsmost full...

Cody

well, given the size of the redstone, if they have one room booked they are 'almost full' ;)

They giving discounts to GSW attendee's again? Or am I imagining that they did that last year?

ArloGuthroJeep

Nevermind, called to make reservations - they are. $64.95 for two double beds. I think it was $59.95 for one queen; didn't pay attention to that number though.

The prices are right. I Talked to her & she said they have a tour bus group Sat. She said that Most of the double bed rooms are full but I guess the single beds aren't really that bad yet.

And yes tell them your with GSW to get the $10 discount.

They are out of doubles. Guess I'm getting a room to myself this year. No Dave, you can't sleep over.

Lucky for you Pam must've called right before you and booked us a room.

Saturday night at the Redstone shall prove to be interesting . . . . if they're booked solid on double rooms already I can imagine they're pretty close to being completely booked. Wonder how our antics will go over with this tour??? And where are they going to park their bus if the lot is full of our trucks and trailers???

We'll have more manual labor available.

Pam and Dave sleeping in separate beds? Fight or traditional (1950's) marriage?

Edit: I'm in at Red Stone. Sounds like it is almost full.

Yea I ran into issues myself.

I have a double for my kids and I on Thurs and Friday but need to change to a single queen for Saturday. Lets see how many of my kids go this year. It could be cozy on Saturday if all 3 go. Oh well been there before and not likely the last time. Just glad that Friday night is ok because I will be running the spike that day and will need a decent bed to sleep in afterwards.

I had them put a note out in case a double comes open. If any of you guys change your reservation please PM me before you cxl and maybe I can get your double on Sat night.

Thanks Sandy for the heads up.

Booked us a room as in one with a queen bed . . . .

We got one of their pet rooms too for the dog, I'm kinda curious where the hell he's gonna sleep? Must just put him in the truck.

The pet rooms have tile floors. So the dog can sleep inside with you.

I decided to stay 5 nights. I'm tired, no pun intended, of getting home late Sunday night. So, I will head home Monday.

That's the way I've always done it too, makes the drive back MUCH easier.

I think we will be leaving the dog at home. Imagine 3 kids, my fat self and a dog on one bed. The Clampits have arrived.

I'm getting a mental image of what this bed would look like. It's not good.

If you take the mattress off the box springs, you now have a double, Jed.;)

I have an inflatable you can use Keith. Just remind me a week or so ahead of time so i can charge the inflator & not forget about it. I would think it would fit in the floor.

I can't remember if it's a double or single now though.

Hey there folks - this'll be my first GSW :D

Any hotels preferably near Red Stone that do a group rate for us? Gonna shoot for Big Horn I suppose now that I know that RS is booked.

Sandy R
02-10-2007, 06:53 PM
Big Horn is a step-up class-wise and is directly across the street from Redstone and I'm pretty sure that it is owned by the same company. I would call Redstone first to see if you can get in (never know about cancellations) and if they can't get you in ask about a discount at Big Horn. Good luck.

Could always camp out at Moab KOA.

I'm planning on going back to Alaska this summer, so Moab is probably not going to happen unless I win the loterry.

There's that campground right next door. They have small cabins too. That way if someone wanted to, they could still hang out at the RedStone when we're all out there hangin out.

Red Stone full, Big Horn full. Guess I'll be looking into the campground next door. Guess it gives me an excuse to take my popup camper the opposite direction I usually do :smt016

I am poor, so I am camping for sure. I usually stay along the river for $5 or $10 a night, I cant remember. Where is the place by the dunes you spoke of last year?

I'm a camper (read: roll the air mattress out in the back of the ZJ and cram all the stuff in the front seats) too so I'll be looking for a cheap place to park the jeep. ;) Not familiar with BTR though, but I am familiar with along the river (road gets noisy though).

yep.

I think we ended up at the comfort inn (since the redstone was booked anyway). A few more bucks but it is only a block or two down and right across the street from Moab Brewery.

I plan on "car camping" read: Bringing a ton of stuff, and keeping my tent right next to my car. I have plenty of camping gear, stove, tarp, and misc stuff to keep it livable. I also have spent several nights in the back of the Jeep or on the ground near it. So I am up for anywhere. If anyone wants to make a group camp let me know I am down.

Justin, sorry that guy has not gotten back to me about the front axle. I don't think it is going to happen, sorry. If you happen to find an XJ 30 front with 4.10, let me know and I still might swap.
