Got a call from a buddy of mine saying his friend had got stuck in a little puddle the day before and needed to be pulled out. Well it had rained and eventually began to snow... yes snow in Tucson so we figured we better get out there before the little puddle he was in began to get full of water, this is what we saw when we got out there.......

So we eventually got him out of the pond and the jeep started right up and he drove it back into town, ended up being a good rescue.

I dont think the water would be that bad to be in, just getting out and having the wind+cold temp hit you. Plus with wet clothes on. Either way, that sucks.

On the rescue truck of our fire department, we have a few of these cold water rescue suits designed for ice rescue....that's what this guy needed. Can't say that I've ever tried them out though, I try to find an excuse to miss those dates when we drill with them. I am no fan of jumping in ice water with or (especially) without the proper gear.

Well i didnt even try getting on the other side of the pond to pull this guy out, i went ahead and left my rig on the other side of this small lake and let the landcruiser with the winch do the recovery. The tub was filled with muddy water, was a good drive home for this guy but at least it started up and he got to drive it home.
