Hey, guys.
b1pig here. I've seen the references to this forum on NAGCA and such... figured I'd search here when I started some research a few weeks ago on some Long Arm stuff.
For those that dont know me, I started Jeeping with a '73 CJ5, then bought a 2wd ZJ Laredo SE 4.0 for flat-towing duties. I had it less than 6 months before a '92 Chevy 1500 smacked the assend of the ZJ bending the "frame" and tweaking the body. I decided that since I knew it would "never be the same", I set my mind to moding it.
I recognize some names from NAGCA and JeepsUnlimited, so all of this info should all come as no surprise. In the winter of '01, I converted the ZJ from 2wd to 4wd using a salvage 42RE, TJ NP231 and a cv joint D30.
1998 ZJ Laredo SE
4.0 with 2003 intake, Banks Torque Tube / Flomaster 40
Safari Snorkel SS720 with custom ammo-can filter housing
'03 TJ NP231
'94 D30 with Aussie Locker & 4.56 and OEM YJ front brak lines
Teraflex D30 Hi-Steer setup
Skyjacker front adj. trackbar, Currie Rear adj Trackbar.
orig disc brk D35 with a '93 limited slip and 4.56
5.5" of lift based on 3.5" front coils, f->r UC coils in back, both under 2" Anthony's B/B, on short arms (all adj out back)
Driveline Specialists CV/slipyoke rear driveshaft
Doesch Tech DT3000 shocks
Teraflex front swaybar discos, extended rear swaybar links
33-12.50 ProComp ExTerrains on 15x8 Elite 50/51 series wheels
ARB Bullbar housing a Warn M8000 and Hella 500's
Con-Ferr rack with two pair of WallyWorld 4" clear fogs (fr/rr)
Federal Signal siren with 1 pair of Sho-Me LEDs, 1 rear LED tail for Fire Fighting response (wig-wags on Hellas)
Yeasu FT100 HAM radio with antenna farm
typical CB
Clayton's Hard Rockers
AmSteel-Blue synthetic line
VIAIR 450c pump w/ 2 gallon tank for OBA
Air Press gage, Tranny temp and O2/mixture gages all on A-pillar
Kenwood CD, Sony 5ch amp, 2 pr Jensen 6.5" triax, Eclipse aluminum cone sub in ported box
I currently have a Rubicon Express LongArm Upgrade laying on the shop floor that was jsut delivered today. I bent the frame and front LCA mounts due to the RE drop brackets I was running. Compliments of leverage, extreme decents and slickrock on the Golden Spike trail. :D
The ZJ next to our former CJ5 right after I bought it:

After I get the Long Arms on, planning on some nice braided brake lines and some Bilstein 7100 shocks. Right now, the DT 3000's are my limiting straps. :D
A friend and I ran the ZJ in a "new" Competion called Raid Norht Georgia in August of '04. We placed 3rd overall due to our lack of understanding of certain directions... but the most important... the ZJ took 1st place honors in the Offroad Competion. We were forced to run the course at night, which slowed us down, and I'm convinced we nearly rolled on the 2nd secent of the hillclimb, but due to the terrain, we were saved by the Clayton's Rockers. The ZJ still bears the competion decals.
