So here's my Jeep Journal thread so I can go through everything I want to do and have done to my baby. A lot of this is to keep me motivated to save my money as opposed to blowing it all on loose women and beer. So here we go...

On 2 OCT I purchased my second ZJ, a 1998 5.9 Limited, deep slate pearl. Pure sex.

I had the necessary parts for my 3" F-R swap that I had purchased for the 93. (I was about halfway through the install when my parents reminded me that since it was their name on the title, they would be the ones to decide whether or not it would be lifted. Needless to say I was frustrated, but oh well, I got a better Jeep out of the deal)

I installed the lift the very first weekend I had her, and experienced my first DW shortly afterwards! A few days later I adjusted the toe-in enough to get rid of that.

Didn't do much wheelin with the stock (extremely bald) tires, but I did snap some cool pics.

A few weeks later I scraped enough cash together to buy a set of 265/75R16 Pro Comp mudders, and the night I installed them, took a trip to Omaha, (Only about an hour on the interstate.) No problems there with the alignment or anything, however I did get a professional alignment done the next week.

Thats no photoshop, MS Paint ftw

So now I'm putting together the cash for:
-Hanson front bumper, rockers, rear bumper/swingout, gas tank skid
-KOR t-case skid
-Mile marker winch,
-Optima yellow top to run that beyotch
-Zacatal roof rack w/lights
-Complete sound system (Nothing too gangsta, I just want mp3 capability and better sound quality since my stock speakers all buzz.)

I'd like to get most of these done before shipping out to boot camp on 5 FEB

Later down the road I plan on adding
-7" Clayton's LA's (maybe 5 or 6" springs with ACOS)
-35" mudders (pry pro comps, so far i like mine)
-OBA
-Build my 44A w/ aussie locker, shafts, gears etc. (Do I need the flame suit for this?)
-Swap in Waggy (or whatever else I can find) 44 front, built up w/arb
-WJ style steering (haven't done much research on this yet, but don't workk I do know how to use the search function:smt016 )
-KOR Steering box brace
-Full exhaust w/ headers & PCM

I'm supposed to end up in San Diego, and I'll be getting a bike to use as a DD, but I hope to keep this girl streetable to some degree. I'll keep it registered here in Nebraska so I don't have to worry about those pesky emissions laws.

So like I said, I mostly put this up here to keep me motivated, but if anyone cares to give me feedback please do.

Lookin good man! I don't think you need much of a flame suit at all for wnating to build up the D44a. The reason everyone bitches about them is because the lack of aftermarket support, not because they suck. If I recall correctly, they have the same ring gear size as a D60, so with some shafts you should have a very strong axle. The only downside for the ZJ D44a is the C-clips.

Looks like you have everything planned out man. GL and Have fun!

(drunkish post...better punctuation then sober...lol)

WJ steering on a D44 front? do you mean high steer? The D44 front knuckle is a different set up from the D30.

Looks good so far, my only dislike is the Pro Comp tires, I hate mine.

I think a buddy of mine did something similar with his Commanche (WJ steering), I'll double check on that.

High steer is the way to go.

I just noticed it's a 5.9L. I want your motor.

Its dead sexy, no doubt. My (parents) 93 had the 5.2, and I remember thinking it was something cool.
