Well I see tomorrow there's an overland up for auction at the local dealer auction and I've been thinking about getting a WJ. I was wondering if there's any quirky things with the overland edition because it seems like it's everything I want and more. The one I'm looking at is a 2002.

Hit up jeepforum.com or jeepsunlimited.com for more indept responces, i dont know of anyone who is running overland on here. I have a limited and if you feel a need for all of the bells and whistels then go for it but be worned that it is all of the bells and whistles that tend to break on the WJ ie blend doors, headed seats, ect.

I have an overland, and the best answer is......it depends.

When I was looking I found it easier to find an Overland than a HO Limited, at least it was easier to find one using the cars.com and autotrader.com. At least it is something that I can search for easily. Finding a HO Limited comes down to VIN decoding.

Good things about Overlands

HO Motor
Redwood interior trim instead of walnut
Wooden steering wheel
Standard rock rails
Every optional skid plate is standard
You get nearly everything standard, only options are navigation and power adjustable pedals
Bad things about Overlands

Rock rails are weak compared to after market ones
Quadradrive makes it more expensive to do lockers
Power adjustable pedals (if present)
