My dually left me stranded friday night after dinner with the wife. Had to have it towed to my dads shop. Pulled the codes and I am getting low voltage at lift pump code. It starts then stalls out, like it is getting little to no gas. I towed it into the dealer as it is under factory powertrain waranty.

Any ideas here? Curious to see what the dealer comes up with. I have been having this weird electrical issue with the blinkers as well. It is like the switch gets stuck. You put the left blinker on and the right blinker works. Put the hazards on and it fixes it. Weird!!!!!!!!

I'm guessing a Dodge 3500 diesel???

Chevy's don't have lift pumps and Ford would be an F350.

I don't know anything about the 3rd gen fuel systems other than they are common rail and the pump is a CP3. Are you a TDR member??

Yep its a dodge. As it is under the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty I took it to the dealer. The lift pump went bad and according to the dealer this is a common problem that the 04's had. They need to retrofit it with a newer style lift pump supposedly. They have been unable to get the part for like 4 days. Hopefully I will get it back next week.

Lift pump going bad has been a problem since the 98 24 valve trucks. The 3rd gen trucks have the pump in the tank, but I've heard that one isn't all that much better.

My '04.5 3500 CTD started out with the lift pump under the hood. It now has the in-tank pusher. Hope it lasts more than 80k miles.

The intank lift pumps are lasting longer then the external pumps and they are less prone to sucking up air then the external pump.
